Just wondering if once you're out in the truck with a trainer it's both on the clock at the same time or if it done as team driving? I'm trying to find a company that trains NOT as a team.
Training question?

During ordination when you are with a TE (Training Engineer), you are paid your orientation pay. You will do about 90%-95% of the driving. The TE is in the right seat the entire time. You are on line 3 (Driving). The TE is on line 4 (On Duty) the entire time.
If you are with a mentor after orientation, then I believe it is team driving.w.h.o and gentleroger Thank this. -
Ok great that's what I wanted to know thank you.

Not sure if they still do this but after going with a trainer, they have you fill out this sheet rating your trainer and asking question like was he in the passenger seat the whole time? On his phone? Etc etc.
mindes Thanks this. -
Yes, they are still having the drivers complete the evaluations of the TE.

Not that they really mean anything. Usually the TE hears nothing unless the trainee really blasts them.or says the TE was on the cell phone.

No teaming. TE in right seat the whole time, unless he takes over the driving at some point late in the day or whatever. Trainee gets $80 a day for training pay.
