So you'd rather work more and get paid less?

Do you really think the Milton guys make more or the swift flatbed drivers make more at the .42 CPM? Nope atleast for the ones I've spoken too and have contact with they make what I make in a week. And with the time of year it's sucking for everyone.

And I really don't think of this as hard work as long as I was getting 3k miles im good but 3kplus a week would have been even better for me..

When I was Over the road I was out for up to 3 weeks or more at times I made good use of my clock and my drops always kicked them off early

There are companies that will pay you more per mile. Even if you end up making same amount of money and still you drive less miles and save more of your time/clock you can run more miles and higher cpm rate and make more money vs lower paying cpm company. Does that make any sense to you, probably not. Just like it doesn't make sense to you to become O/O since "owner operators don't make anymore money than company drivers" according to you.

Lease drivers make what I made over the road in a week once you add in the medical and whatever else you'll be better off running company and buying a truck

being a true O/O is a whole different ball game

Lease drivers maintain company trucks for free and then if they take some time off or truck breaks down they're stuck with negative paycheck.

Haven't heard that about the lease at system heard nothing but positive things from the guys that do lease with them.

I'm not sure why you have such a negative outlook on the company but it may be time for you to leave since you are very un happy

Sneakerfix you should jump all over that lease-op since it's so great. I'd love to hear your success story in a year or two...

Why would I do that I run local now. But I Don't think I'll go back over the road anytime soon I have a 6year old at home and being at home is more important too me.

As posted the guys that are L/P like it and haven't said nothing negative about it I think it's because they don't pay fuel cost so it works better for them

I've talked to O/O for another company. He used to be O/O for System and he said he makes more money than he ever did with System and is able to take off rest of year off (we've talked back at the start of November) He said he regrets he didn't start working for company he works for now earlier and he could barely afford to take a week off while working for System.
It's all a matter of personal perspective, if you're happy where you at-no need to change nothing.
Being company driver is not for everyone just like being O/O is not for everyone.
