I think some thing similar. I imagine when Your dispatcher calls You in after the shift with the following words.: "Hey TN_Trucker75, at mile marker 47, You were drilling in Your nose and when at mile marker 63 You sayed "stupid dispatcher".
This You better should not say.
When I am in the truck with a camera, and I am on the fon, I tell before I talk about any thing else the person on the other end that maybe the company where I drive for records all the conversation.
I really can*t fiend much benefits to film and record the driver.

    TN_Trucker75 Thanks this.

I don't mind a company that has a dash cam pointing across the hood. I refuse to work for a company that has one pointed towards me as I do my job. It seems to me that I was hired based on my impeccable record and trust that I will do a good job as I agreed to do when I was hired. Putting a camera in my face is a breach of that trust, and I don't work for people that don't think that they can trust me. It's just a personal opinion. I know the arguments for the cameras (most are pointless), and I just don't agree with them.

None, except to provide a different target for the slip-and-fall lawyer.

You give dispatchers too much credit.

Talked to my Boss before I left for xmus vacation, the current company I am with, he said he would have to be dead and buried before he would ever allow a driver facing cam in one of his trucks. The son in law that's being groomed to take over also is of this thought. Why they don't mind if you have your own cam pointing outwards they just see no reason make it company policy.

This seems to be the difference between Mega's and smaller mom and pop's, Megas are doing it to protect there arse from the low skilled no talent workers they tend employ. Why the mom and pops for the most part go after the more talented and higher skilled drivers, those people have faith in the drivers they have hired and tend to stand behind the driver instead of just tossing his arse under the bus.

I think they should let the driver decide about this.
Then drivers which wants it can request it.
Maybe there are some drivers which don*t feel safe with out to become filmed.
Maybe there are a few drivers would like to have an extra camera for the sleeper to be more safe.
I think also, it would be easier for the drivers which requests to become filmed, when the companies would promote the safety features.
I think it would be much easier for the drivers to choose a company when the would have it on there website so that the applicant can decide easier instead a suprise after the hiring.

There is NOT one situation out there that a driver facing cam can make you more safe. The only thing it can do for you is allow the blood sucking lawyers pick apart your actions if something does happen. You want to feel safer in a sleeper, carry a gun. It will make whatever is making you feel unsafe in a sleeper think twice.

Even that may be ill advised depending on your territory.
