Have you looked into ice grippers? They slip over your boot or shoe and have replaceable metal spikes in the bottom

Food workers in restaurants are required to wear special no slip shoes, I'd be curious if those would help?

I thought about the gripper deals but it's not like the ramp gets icy. It just has a thin skin of frost when the aluminum freezes. A buddy has boots he wore in the military and he doesn't seem to have the problem. But I'm not ready to enlist for a pair of boots.

Go to an industrial supply store and buy some non skid tape and put strips across the ramp. The rough surface shouldn't freeze over as easy as the bare aluminum ramp. Most work boots have soles that are fairly hard and you might need something that has more of rubber sole. I love my Danner boots, but when it is cold and icy they are worthless.

Had the same problem with my footwear as I'm in and out of the reefer frequently for deliveries. There is a safety shoe outlet near me. I picked up these shoes with composite toe and sleep resistant soles by Nautilus set you back around $90.00 very comfortable and has excellent grip on frozen and wet surfaces.

Take some small 1/2" hex head sheet metal screws and screw them into the lugs of your boots. Just a few not on every lug. We use them ice fishing and they add just that little traction you need.

Finbird and Kenworth have it right. I have a pair of cheap ice grippers that you throw on over your boots. You have to worry more about tripping then slipping. But at least you won"t fall on your caboose walking back to the truck with your coffee in front of everybody at the truckstop. They are a pain to walk in.
