I'm at Roadrunner and got an email the other day that Fleetnet is no longer helping or financing lease truck breakdowns. They already stopped it or at least stopped advancing money for breakdowns in my case, I own my truck but in the past had been able to get an advance on the money they owed me to pay for some repairs. Last breakdown they refused to advance any money at all.

Anyway, not sure how that will affect if at all the other divisions of Roadrunner like R+M and Bruenger for example. Something to ask the recruiter for sure though.

A lot of drivers that have worked at Bruenger have always said that brake downs is the one positive here, they will usally help u and just take the money back out of your settlements over a period of time..

Do you guys use FleetNet? maybe this is just for Roadrunner lease ops only I guess. This is the content of the email. Not sure if it really for real now because of all the mispellings.

"Effective immediately flletnet will not be abole to assist with I/C
owned or Lease Purchase equipment. Repair to tractors & other IC owne
d or LP equipment still remain the responsibility of the owner or
lessee. Fleetnet may be used for pool equipment only. "

So what have I been up to.. Took most of the 3rd week off so I could be home with my wife and kids after her surgery.. I did run a load that week on Sunday, Monday and was home by Wensday morning.. I managed to pay all the bills and bring in a whooping $77.00 on 1400 miles so no complaints..

This week I left out Monday to Salina KS and ran a load to Crandberry Township PA.. With Christmas this week I hope the load pays the bills and leaves me a few hundred for my pocket, we will see.. The load did pay pretty good about $2.20 a mile..

Like always I started pestering dispatch for a load a few days prior, but it seemed they where more concerned with getting loads out of Kansas.. On the first day the kinda snickered and promised me they would work on it. The Secound day the solution was going to be, dead head 5 hrs from PA to IN to bring a load back to Kansas so I could help them with there weekend loads they did not have covered, but there was no way I could make the shipper before they closed.. By the 3rd day they told me they seen nothing on the board.. Well thank goodness I know how this game is played and the was looking myself..

Most Brookers I where speaking with, wanted to nearly pay $1.20 a mile out of PA, this all started to change as Wensday rapped up, I seen on the load board that a lot of Brokers still had loads needing hauled, I keep there info and called most of these cheap basterds back.. They where comming so I was a little more selective..

I really wanted the Pepsi load from PA to Reno, NV but the broker and me where off about $400... Well I called on a load to Oargon and it is a 1 p/u with 5 drops that I agreed to haul for $4400.. The first stop tomorrow in Minn, the other 2 in Aulburn, WA and the last 2 in the Portland area.. Portland looks like they have a ton of refer freight on the board so I decided to take it.. It is a total of 2700 miles so It is about $1.60 a mile (not great but sets next week up to make some money, if Mother Nature is nice).. If I remember right my share is about $3200 after Bruengers 30%, I will spend about $900 in fuel / $150 in tolls.. So about $2200 in the bank for next week.. If I can get another short haul in I might make a decent pay check if not, still take home about a grand..

Things are pretty much the same old same old here, there are good loads and bad loads, you really have to know the lanes and fight the road to make it happen..

I know it is winter right now, and I just need to keep my head up for about 2 and 1/2 more months and we will be back to turning and burning the good freight..

Hope you are all having a marry Christmas..

Yeah I run with Eagle Logistic Services, and it is tough with the way rates are right now. I love running Midwest to southern Cali, but can't find decent rates for Vans.
At one time I did run with R&M and they kept me pretty busy running Cali loads.

Hey Itaff. I heard that Bruenger is going to the same pay scale as R&M at the first of 2016 per Hollie. How do you think that's gonna affect everyone that's used to percentage pay?

Not good for me!! Probably concider it a breach of contract, and find a new home if that's true.. Now if they want to follow A&A and pay us 75% that would be alright.. Lol

I wonder what made them charge. Probably with loads being turned down for being too cheap, they needed drivers to pull all loads and not turn them down
