I have a 2007 Volvo 670 with a cummins isx. so I'm driving no problem I come to a stop I make a turn theres no response in the peddle for 2 seconds. then its ok so I drive to a shop.the guys not there will be in later ok so as I sit there in idle all of a sudden the truck almost cuts off a check vehicle ecu comes on.i leave he calls says the truck wont come on he thinks I'm low on fuel I put 10 gallons in still wont come on. batteries have a lot of corrosion I'm thinking the ecu isn't getting power he says it might be a fuel or air issue. the truck had sat for 4 days prior for holidays and its cold in the Chicagoland thanks.

If you're at a shop they should be able to figure out what the problem is
-
Does it turn over?
-
Address the obvious and correct, then move on with diagnosis if no results.
-
You said lots of corrosion on batteries, I'd have them cleaned up first and put some terminal protectors/dielectric grease on terminals and go from there. CEL light should give you a code and you can go from there.
-
check the wire from battery to ecm
-
Good advice the corrosion will send a fault to the ECM and ECU. Also check the fuse at the terminal.
-
Try unhooking the batteries and leave off for about 10 min where it will reset the internal computers. Clean up the terminals as posted above. See if that helps.

Im thinking there must've been 2 problems at once. i went back to the truck and cleaned off the batteries and replace the fuses on the batteries and the truck started.it ran for about 3 minutes and cut it self off. i was able to start it again. but my truck doesn't cut off in idel so now im waiting on the machenic to figure out the problem.
NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
Ok, this is going to sound stupid. Check the oil level, the coolant level. I have had guys have the same issue and the truck was sitting on a slope and all it needed was just a little oil or coolant.Call_Me_The_Breeze and NavigatorWife Thank this.
