hi
i drive for schneider bulk out of memphis for the last 3 weeks
im still waiting to get my hazmat approval and havnt yet been qualified to deliver nalco loads
the business is real slow
i got an average of 600 miles a week at .41cts
every 3days they put me off for 2 days
is there are other snbc drivers here,
what are your situation? are you keeping busy?
how the layover pay exactly works? if you have a 100 miles bobtailing in a day, does it kill the layover pay?
can you pretend to the layover the days you are available and waiting for a load in your hometime oc?
im considering to look for another company, its like im wasting my time, i knew that the winter would be slow but not like that, its ridiculous to bear that for 300 bucks a week.

I know it sucks but try to wait it oit until you get your hazmat and approval. It then should pick up atleast a little. (Note I don't drive for Schneider.)

Talk to harleycharley, he posted on the Schneider boards, just quit Schneider a couple weeks ago but was there for a year. I was with Schneider for 4 years (spent 3 months on the bulk side back in 2013) and I'd have to say although it currently is the slow season Schneider bulk is in the toilet right now from what I've heard. Not sure if it will get any better. Hell it was dead back in '13 when I was there before they lost a lot of customers, was lucky to hit 2000 miles in 7 days then. 600 miles a week is hilariously bad, talk to your dbl and tell them this is unacceptable and see what they say

For one thing not coming in with hazmat is severely restricting what you can haul.
-
How long have you been with schneider? If you haven't got your hazmat I'm assuming you just started? Jumping ship this early looks bad on your resume. Hang on till you get your hazmat because you are limited to what you can haul.
drvrtech77 Thanks this. -
That's true but I had hazmat and still sat through 3 34hr restarts in one week lol. He should at least wait for his hazmat, see what happens and at least get 6 months in

Yes it slow at this time of year, but not having your HazMat or Nalco cert is why you are sitting, you are limited to what you can haul. It will get better just hang in there, get a good year experience, doors will open! If you are sitting at your home term, no layover pay, sucks! Anywhere else if you sit for 24hrs without moving, you get layover, you will have to send a message over Qualcomm to your DBL requesting layover, including date, from -to and reason(no load/waiting on appointment etc.) They like to send you on STUPID empty trailer move when you've been sitting for like 20hrs so they get out of paying you layover! You WILL SCREW yourself if you do it! I suggest if they try this to not acknowledging /accepting these until after you get your 24hrs in! Hang in and stay safe!

So you took a week off, in other words.
