I let employers tell me how to drive while we are in a class or safety meeting. But when I get in the truck I drive like I always have. Been driving 32 years. 3 million miles safe driving awards. I know things change. But my DAC report isn't if I can help it. I leave the house in one piece and get home safe. If you re a brand new driver maybe it would be beneficial to learn their way since its already all new to you. It was all new to me when I started.
What does progressive shifting mean to you?

Nothing wrong with progressive shifting but each truck has it's own sweet spots. Mine is a little rev to 17k pop out and pop back in before it drops to 12k.
Progressive and double clutching is a skill needed to demonstrate for officials and other personnel who can put a truck out of service or suspend or fire the driver.
When in a truck by oneself do what feels comfortable and safe.
In traffic I drag no less than 8k and rarely on a downhill do I let the rpm pass 15k. I tend to start driving in 3rd gear and usually am not allowed the dignity to progressively downshift in traffic since Bay Area drivers behave as though trucks are made of paper and can stop on a dime. I drive the Bay Bridge to San Francisco so outside of owning an automatic I try to minimize the foot work so I don't go out on disability.
If I am pulled into inspection and not "cruising the tower" at the scale I am progressive shifting and dotting every damnable "i." -
17k = 17,000.......the "k" stands for thousands......if using the "k" it should have been 1.7k

First off when I made this post I ment to say lug the motor to 1000 or 1200 not 2000 rpm. Sorry for the confusion.
