Well with Washintong and Oargon out of the way, I headed up to Pasco and got a load of wine. It delivers in Lafeyetta, LA (2,260 miles and it pays $4500 / $1.99 a mile)
I'm currently in Lafeyetta now getting unloaded and have another load set up to head back to Kansas..
It was a pretty cold ride down this way at one point in WY it was -21 degrees... Did really well with fuel cost down about .30 cents a mile, but did get the pleasure of buying 2 bottles of anti gel to keep the truck from gelling in the extream cold..
So on this load my part comes out to about $3300 before fuel about $ $26-27 after fuel and I will be able to add another load to this before I'm out of hours for the week..
Hope everyone is doing good, this weather in my opinion has been great for freight..seems like the last week freight has picked up just a little.. If you are thinking about L/P in 2016 I would still wait until about the 1st of March..
Let's all pray for a prosperous and safe 2016.. -
Well, I'm kind of thinking that with Bruenger changing the structure of there pay, that for the most part what I say will really be no use to drivers thinking of coming here...
I guess for the most part that puts an end to this thread.. ?
For the most part I'm still going strong, doing what I can and working my butt of to make this work..
Hopefully someone will come along that can answer questions about the new pay package they have started..
Good luck and God Bless!! -
They are paying by the mile now since rates are in the gutter typical big company covering their butts.
Everyone I talk to says Bruenger is no longer what it use to be and you can thank roadrunner for that.itaff Thanks this. -
Friend of mine is leased onto a carrier where the Fuel Surcharge is negative 1 cent, that's right, he is paying full price for fuel plus $0.01 back to the carrier per mile.
itaff Thanks this. -
OMG!! That is ridiculous !!! Who would do that?? Lol
-
I have heard it all. No one in the industry has a negative fuel surcharge. They would have no drivers. Cmon man
itaff and scottied67 Thank this. -
That happened to friend. He pulled both trucks he had and went somewhere else.

Well it is official.. I guess paper logs are on the way out and e-log is mandatory by 2017!!!
I don't know if I can financially make it in this lease if we have to run by e-log..
I asked if we could use Big Road still but was told no.. It will only be e-log..
Now as a company driver I have run e-log and I have no issue with it.. But as a L/P driver it takes the edge away from me.. I looked at last week and I would of only been able to get 3 legal loads compared to the 4 I made look legal.. Surly an end of an error is coming!!
My concern is that in order to compensate for delayed delivery the company will have to hire a lot more drivers..
I guess one thought is, maybe hire a second driver for my truck and run as a team.. That might be the only way to keep here moving 23 hrs a day.. Lol -
Changes will HAVE to come!!!
Intermodal is simply NOT do able on e logs for a O/O. Well, not the way it's done now, it's not...
Line hauls will have to go up, detention will HAVE to go UP SUBSTANTIALLY, I'm talking to well north of $100 and only 1 hr free...the question is, which O/O will have the $$$ to survive while the Brave New World comes to being!!!!itaff Thanks this.
