I don't think this is a problem based upon immigrant or non I believe it is more then that I believe it's what people view us as. People view us as a dirty truck drivers. Because the lack of better words some that drive these trucks. People think us as truck drivers are out here killing families because they are not educated on what we do. How much skill it takes to operate these machines in a safe and professional manner. People have take professionalism out of trucking I guess in American in general. People use to help now it's about greed and money. I am 26 now and I got into this industry because I love truck driving I love what it used to be. I love that I am doing something for people all over I am providing good or parts for an electric plant so people have power. There is a lot in that saying trucks move America. I believe we need to change that as truck drivers move America. this job is a meaning ful industry and I believe many forgot that. Now you may think that I am a complainer but if you will look in my post I have wrote articles to news paper informing people what we do out here. I am not scared to stand up for what I believe in... I am not scared to make a change what about you... Or must our actions stop at words ........ Let's March to Washington how come the African or the minimum wage communities can march and get rights but us out here we can not do so... As a truck driver there is no such thing as race it is what brings us together cause we are all truck drivers it's what bonds us like a brother hood even the women out here we must not forget where we come from..... Let's March for rights to stop tolls to stop the criminal injustice when we turn on the key and media thinking we are criminals.. We are out here moving America . Let's March for rights in this industry. Let's say no to those in Washington that are making rules that have never drove a truck. let's show them that we are not just some dirty truck driver let's show them what I see in this industry is value and necessity, and pride .. What say you......

William artinger I even signed this to show I am not scared .....

One of my favorite political authors is a guy named pj o rourke, he's pretty brilliant. He was writing of a democratic rally he and his buddy happened to be at, just packed with people and speakers and mass hijinks. His buddy turned to him and said 'how come when the democrats, or these liberal groups (you know who he means) have a rally they get thousands upon thousands of people, but when the republicans have a rally two guys show up waving a little American flag? That ain't right!' PJ turned to his buddy and said 'we have jobs'. For some reason that story sticks with me. Good luck organizing a march or a shutdown bro....if I win the powerball I'll come protest with ya ;)

Ah, the enthusiasm of youth. I by no means want to thwart your intentions, and I too, felt the same way early on, but I believe you are "preaching to the choir" and I found, people couldn't care less how their goods get to the store, and trucks are just a nuisance, and many don't even know what trucks do. ( I had a young woman ask me once, "what do you guys do with those big, shiny trucks, just drive around"?) It's best to keep quiet, and do the job and collect the pay (if any) Sorry, but after 35 years of basically getting pooped on, you kind of lose faith. Good luck in your quest.

Powerball, a tax on poor people. I heard, with this insane 1.3 billion, you have a better chance of getting hit by an asteroid. Still, someone has to win, and that's where they got you.

I like how he mentioned stopping tolls and criminal injustice in the same sentence as if they're both equally unjustly haha. Highwolf89, I'll ride with you to Washington!

I agree, truckers dont realize how much force they have. Even if 1/3 of all trucks would stop making deliveries the outcome would be brutal.
