I've noticed some drivers that have started at Great Plains last year now have their pics on Holland's website . Hopefully the grass is greener for them
Great Plains Transport - A company that cares about drivers... NO BS.

Can a driver leave GPT and move to Holland and keep their seniority and benefits?
-
That's because they updated their website and used pics they already had .. They are trying to make it look way better than it is ... One of the head guys in the shop told me a week ago that over half of their trucks are now empty. And most are being abandoned because GPT won't help anyone get home when they bring the truck to turn it in ... -
I looked into that the answer was no. I lost my job in the oil fields and needed a job fast that's how I ended up at Gpt. After looking around I have found jobs starting at around .50 with more vacation and paid holidays and personal days. After the problems with me last few loads. I'm gonehighwayman Thanks this.

Over half?? My god.... Wth are these people doing with this company....
-
I heard some are getting offers, I'm not sure. Lol this is the oddest situation I've ever seen between two formerly sister companies....
I might have to hang on and get my vacation, if possible, which means I might have to hope there is a company left when I come back from that vacation.

Talking of vacations. ....I leave tomorrow for the British Virgin Islands! Going sailing for a week and have to put up with 82* degrees everyday, and crystal clear waters and ladies in bikinis. Life is going to be real hard the the next 10 days. But I'm tuff and will just put up with it.

I really don't know what to think. I have been moving good and haven't had but one issue and when I brought it up to mike, it was solved. I don't really like the dispatch situation but it is what it is. I have found that I have to call shippers and receivers to verify appts, but brokers are tards and will not let the company know when things change. One of the things I brought up was having a night and weekend dispatcher and they did that, not that he is the best I have known but it's a start. I believe there is still hope.
Anonymousproxy, drvrtech77 and xlsdraw Thank this. -
I noticed that, I sent a freeform about my delivery time still depending on traffic an I got an answer right back. Was on the way to getting in there by the skin of my teeth but Dallas traffic decided to hold that up. That's why I like an extra hour or two in case of that. Dispatching right at the truck's top speed never works... My next load would've gotten me up to Seattle area with huge miles but my recap hours didn't help. I would had to do wide open just to squeeze that in, and the weather forecasts on the way up there looked grim. Got one going up to Indy over the weekend that's a bit easier on the hours, then another which shouldn't be too bad. Hopefully I can survive the madness until I can get that vacation time lol. Then hopefully once I come back from that and I can run a while and see where things are going from there. Obviously things are going haywire here but right now I just have to do what I have to. I still have some hope that the ship can get turned around but the last couple weeks had me fuming.
Whats disturbing to me is people abandoning their trucks. Don't they realize that's an automatic black ball in this industry? I understand the frustration but doing that no doubt puts a bad mark on the DAC report, regardless of what company you're at. I've yet to see any companies that will buy bus tickets to exiting drivers. That's why I think it's best to keep so cash handy just in case, especially if something comes up to keep you from driving anymore.. Medical stuff, maybe something happening in the family, whatever.Last edited: Jan 16, 2016

In the 90's I worked for M.S. Carriers and they would route their drivers to drop off quitting drivers back at their homes. I dropped a few guys off before I took that ride myself.
