Why do truckers (or companies) really need brokers, & what could be done to limit the use of them?

AH Sorry to hear that man. You would be better off being a company driver at a reputable carrier before you can buy your own truck and go anywhere you wish, or even have your own authority. What you're telling me sounds brutal! How much percent do they take away from you? What do they cover such as cargo/trailer? Also are you allowed to use other load boards that you choose to use?

I can use any load board but ITS won't let us sign up with CRSTs dot #. I stopped using the DAT app because it only searches current location and I can't search where im delivering next, maybe I missed something? However Malone simply has an approved broker list I must comply with, of which TQL is not on. TQL may not be great, but they have the most freight. It is just crap. You have to make people like you, and the problem is, I can't like people like that. I don't hate them, I just think they lack the right kind of empathy to lead others to success, aND their own success is destructive to the whole system. Just like what I'm feeling about brokers.

You're better off making hot dogs than hauling TQL freight. I'm not sure how Malone works but there are good brokers out there. My suggestion would be is to get away from your company ASAP. This isn't much of brokers faults.

Yes, aND another, and another... this only proves what I wrote, no one feels like brokers are affordable. Drivers are complaining because there are loads that Pay nothing, and brokers still take plenty off the top of those loads. Is that true? If it is, then yes, it's an injustice that someone organized needs to find a way to deal with. And another... and another... keep em coming

OP, before you start bashing brokers heads in, you need to take a long look at where you are running at. CO, NE, and CA are NOT good areas for flatbed work, unless you like running for peanuts. You need to spend more time watching where better paying freight is moving.

And again customers (read that shippers and receivers) get a pass as if they are blissfully unaware that drivers really will accept a rate of $1.28 a mile on a tarped flat bed load.

Accept but quit soon after. It's bad business leading to lots of instability within the blood of our economy. Also distraught spirits that will corrupt mentalities into taking pleasure to someone else's demise over and over again. In other words, by being kind to my customers, and saying yes, thank you, please, and forgive me, I'm giving them hope. However, when the person who gave them hope runs out of hope, they don't have to even see it for it to effect their dreams, (if they have any) and their very souls. My recommendation is sacrifice, until there is nothing to give, and then with your less than 0, move on to a place that's back to just 1, because then you'll at least deserve it . Fortunately, il be able to leave 0, and move on to at least 1k a week, being home every night, while those who took when it was time to give will still be haunted by their own dreams (if they have any).
