Thats not my truck. Its theirs.
My truck would be better insulated , not be capped at 60 on cruise, be able to idle at will and prob have at least a 13 speed with gearing to match mountainous driving. Since I pull hills more than flat driving.
You know stuff that makes sense.91B20H8 Thanks this. -
Now I chose home near daily instead of better utilizing my 14. For that I got to sleep in my bed at home which was great. It also meant most of my driving was from a start time between 2100-0600 depending on the run which wasnt so great.
Other guys grab their next load and go , shutting down for the day much later so their sleep schedule was more normal than mine. That meant home weekly rather than more than weekly. Decide whats best for you, but would caution against the way I did it. Very tired on the way back and dealing with 4 wheelers was a challenge. -
I'd like to get home as often as I can but not so much that effects my job. I'm all about learning now and trying to focus on that until my confidence lifts a bit.

To start I would suggest grabbing next load to see how that works. Keeps a regilular sleep schedule you wont have to keep flipping back and forth on to have a life out of the truck on the weekends. Its difficult to sleep during the day. Going to bed at 3 or 4 in the afternoon.

The hours are supposed to be 12a to 12p. I'm not sure how that makes sense in the driving world. I figure an experienced driver will take a few less and a rookie will take at least twelve a shift. I am confused about that whole deal, will I be at the cbus location at the end of the shift. If I am why wouldnt I just go home to sleep. If not will I be picking up at another OC/DC the next day. I'm a night owl so odd hours don't worry me too much. I'll fall asleep whenever as long as it's semi dark in the room (bunk).

Well your return to base could very well be within the same shift. Leaving available 11/14 hrs to run.
Guys would return , hang out til next load was done then hook and go as far as they could.
Set up the way they were when I was there , you could return between 1000 and 1400 depending , leaving lots of time on your 14. Enough to move toward first stop anyway. When you get onboard they will send you out with a TE. For account training. If its Aaron (good dude) he can lay it out. Ask the older account drivers too. Some with 20 yrs plus running it.Last edited: Jan 25, 2016

And the young rodent says "lets run down the hill and get a piece of cheese" but the old rodent says "lets walk down the hill and get all the cheese"
