As @CasanovaCruiser said, regional/flatbed runs like that, depending on where you're from. I got my start hauling steel mainly around the Great Lakes region. We were all home weekends because that's how that industry works for the most part.

I'm looking for the same, northeast ohio, even 5 days out is a little much for me, although I think I could do it for a while

I'm on a dedicated account with Schneider. When I was just starting as a company driver, I got the weekends off. Not too bad if you can find such a gig in your area.

New Dad? Get something more than a day off after being gone all week. FOOD SERVICE... great money and home everyday or every other day. Don't miss out on the new Dad days.

Beverage delivery. Pays decent, more so than a new driver would make doing the modern OTR runs.

Trucks are everywhere here.I should be able to find something here hahaha. -
I agree with the suggestions about food service and beverage delivery jobs. Those drivers get paid way better than new OTR drivers and are home daily (except for the long route sleeper trucks and teams like Sygma has). Too many new drivers think starter OTR companies are their only option.
