Why can't truck manufacturers design our trucks to be able to power out of those situations?

They use to. When I first started driving in the early 90's, the chicken plant I hauled chickens for had Macks. When you flipped the switch, both axles pulled at all axle positions.G13Tomcat Thanks this.
