I guess if your only capable of parking at TA, or any truck stop for that matter then it is what it is.

I try to keep it to the 500 miles a day so I never need a reset thing but that doesn't always work out. 651 is the ragged edge, I'll have less than 5 minutes left on my 11.

More carriers are now reimbursing for paid parking, so more drivers are now willing to pay to park. The end result will be ALL parking will be pay to park, and the carriers will stop reimbursing for parking ($12-$20 per day across a fleet adds up REAL quick). Therefore, the driver will be forced to eat the cost of parking safely and legally, which as has been already pointed out can be a massive financial drain on a driver.

Thusly, I generally refuse to pay for parking. On the other hand, I DO spend money inside the truck stop (food, smokes, drinks, and whatnot).

    mjd4277 and 8thnote Thank this.

I don't know, this looks like an Eastern US thing, when I ran Western 11 the only place with Reserved Parking was a couple of TAs in the Greater Los Angeles area where parking was at a premium, everywhere else half the spots are open all night..... we have big truck stops and cheap land out west...

Bean Jr. and dca Thank this.

Look at Tresslers in Allentown, I'd say there's. a dozen cars saving spots for who knows how long.
There was a Landstar moving his van out of "his" spot.

I know............This has become so undesirable anymore...Fueling drivers (minimum 50 gallons) Should NEVER have to even think about paying to park

And it's gonna get worse....The amount of trailers manufactured each year outshines the number of trailers going to scrap or OOS.

You cant breathe on the highways no more......The whole "trucking" profession has become so commercialized and exploited by so many different parties (media- propaganda groups-safety guru's etc) That there's no secrecy nor pride left to do our jobs QUIETLY........

There is someone to 'thank' for this disaster..Just not sure whom yet.

dog-c and Short Fuse EOD Thank this.
