The multiple trip odometers are one of the cool features these Pete's have...all the 3 axle crap spreaders (Internationals) I ever drove had 1. The only other truck I drove that had multiples was a Volvo.

Took time to recap my YTD, should be on track to make my goal of $55K plus as long as freight holds out, hit 12K in Jan and 11K this month, not bad with 4 days of hometime.

It seems like they are getting a better handle on the number of new drivers and freight is stabilizing, hopefully it continues...

Week keeps getting better. Was asleep, woke to a vibrating truck. Look out windshield to see a trailer pulling out and rubbing on my passenger side front mirror. WTF. Dash cam on this time. Turned on running lights to let driver know I know. Got out, thinking that the front part of my truck was gone. Not so, he just rubbed the mirror, no damage. Other driver gets out and immediately apologizes. Turned out to be a good guy. 2nd time in as many weeks my mirrors got rubbed the wrong way. Off subject. When I was parked at a rest area, Ohio state patrol crused behind the trucks slowing to check trailer plates. Check trailers people. You will get a ticket grace period is over.

He was checking the trailers for theft more likely.

Ohio 'Motor Carrier Enforsement' loves to troll the rest areas on US35... They sit and watch the trucks coming in the rest areas and then spring inspections on them. I always see 3-4 troopers and DOT on US35 from Chillaclothe to Gallipolis Ohio

They sit and watch trucks entering and leaving the Hebron Rest Area, too. One Tuesday morning a few weeks ago, three trucks pulling in were being inspected, and a fourth received an inspection after he woke up and tried to leave.

Well, Sorry to be the "other sad guy" here, but it's been three months as of next week and I'm averaging 8k-9k miles per month with a grand total of 6 days off since Dec 7th.
I asked Chad if I had pissed off the dispatchers, done something wrong, etc. As far as I know, the answer is no. I've never been anything other than cheerful and willing.

I LOVE everything about this company except the miles. My insurance, including the gold-plated disability ins, dental and the 4300-deductable HSA is about $200 a month, which is CHEAP insurance.

I have never been told where/when to fuel, how much to fuel or what route to take. Thursday freight out of Coon Rapids/Fargo is dead, so you can count on a layover day if you're empty Wed. PM. That's a non-issue. it's one day.

The only issue I have is miles per month. I can and do run 550-620 miles per day depending on weather/"etc" issues. I'm on-time, except due to road closures or a shipper keeping me 8 hours on a dock once and even then I was only 1 hour late.

But I get 24-40 hours sitting on every load over 900 miles. Basically, if it's not a short run, they add in an extra day on the schedule and short runs take a lot of time for very few miles.

If it will get me the miles, I'll jump through whatever hoops they want. I would love to stay at Magnum for a long time. But when I see my paychecks at $800ish a week gross... Well, it's not remotely what I was promised and even if I was making another 4 cents per mile, it wouldn't add a lot to the bottom line because the miles are not there. 2100 miles in 7 days is a GOOD week.

Not going anywhere for another couple of months. I'm hoping things shake out because like I said, I really like the company in all other respects. But right now I'm just getting by, not making financial headway. And I'm too old to be treading water for very long.

SSD isn't crazy. The miles, if they aren't there, sour you on everything else. It makes it hard to remember the good stuff and exacerbates every negative thing because you get so frustrated. I'm really hoping Chad will get the Utilization and Velocity scoring working STAT so drivers who are getting screwed on miles can get some compensation.
