When I pulled containers if ever they were to close to crank the landing gear or anything like that I went and got one of the yard guys to yank it out for me.
Rocks, 4noReason and Dominick253 Thank this. -
Sometimes I had to hook to a different trl just to back it up a bit and then hook to mine just to get out.
Sometimes there's no way to even cracked the landing gear and had to drag it until I can turn it.
That's probably the most exciting part of intermodal, every backing in the rail is a challenge. People blowing their horn at me when I haven't even set up for backing lolRocks, 4noReason and Dominick253 Thank this. -
Rocks Thanks this.

As far as pulling cans out if they are stuck together goes it really boils down to if you can or not. Also it depends on the conditions as well. If it's been raining all week long and I have to pick up a container and it's not possible to pickup without crawling underneath it and cranking the landing gear as best as I can I'm not going to do in Duckville. The reason why is that it's a stone and dirt lot area of the Harrisburg rail and I'm not going be having my knees in huge puddles to move a container getting absolutely disgusting for it. I'm going to get a yard jockey and have them pull it out for me. -
There would be a line out the streets and inside the railyard? Chaos. If the train is coming, the closest exit is block and EVERYBODY turn around and race to the end of the track before the train block both ends.Rocks Thanks this. -
