Private fleets, LTL, and tankers will NET you a grand a week no problem. You'll never earn that pulling one way irregular route junk freight without killing yourself, as you probably already know. You don't have to work more than five days a week for a penny less than $1000 NET per week in trucking. That's a myth perpetrated by the van/reefer companies.
Rubberduckin Thanks this. -

Or work for a smaller carrier, Mega's Wil always pay low, but there are those out there that pay well if the OTR lifestyle is something you are interested in

To net a grand a week you'd have to earn $70k/year...
Where's a new guy gonna go for that assuming he's walking into a driving job and not working a dock for 5 years with a CDL to get there?
Other than ODFL.CrazyPATrucker and Rubberduckin Thank this. -
Not sure about a new guy but I was talking to the OP, who stated that he is an experienced driver.Rubberduckin Thanks this.

If you're willing to work more than just drive? Look into specialized freight. I've been with a white glove outfit for years I can make a grand a week or so.
The "other side of the building" is household (moving company) they CAN make lots more.
Flatbeds and O/S make good money from what I hear. Trade shows and concert haulers if you don't worry about home time.
Can't just pull a dry Van or refer anymore and expect to make six figures. And the LTLs are killing Hazmat wages by insisting every employee have it.Rubberduckin Thanks this.
