Both may have been running together chatting on the CB not paying attention and the back swift got too close.

I'd say they probably were seeing as they both had trailers full of Bud Light.

The trucking in the rear could go 1 mph faster than the truck in the front.:)

I don't know how these megas take these $100k hits, and still stay in business. I know they do a lot of volume, but still.

I think it is the fleecers in this case that take the bullet.

However most fleecers at Swift don't have two nickels to rub together, so I don't know how Swift funds this crap. They are 100% self insured, so they must hit up the fleecer's credit report and write off the losses on their taxes.

I forget the details but they do offer a liability limiter to the IC for x amount extra per week. Still in a major loss like this it could cost the IC about $5000. Typically a lease op at Swift is living just barely settlement to settlement with occasional $105 dollar advances against next week's pay, that's if next week's pay is positive. So what will happen is next week this IC will have a settlement about negative $5800 or so and will just apply to some other company. Probably Mcdonalds
