Can anyone tell me if I can get a ez-pass for my company truck. They don't use them and require us to pay the toll then they reimburse us. I know they try to route you around the tolls, but I would like to have the option to use the toll roads without having to stop more than I have to. Thanks for any advice.

I guess the answer is yes but the deposit and credit card required can be substantial especially for class 8 trucks. Plus you would be saving YOUR COMPANY money while you are liable. Plus there may be insurance proof requirements.

I have had it for many years. I have the IPASS from Illinois. It is the Illinois version of EZPASS.

It will post the tolls from Illinois within the day. The tolls from other states can take as much as a week. This delay, is not good for prompt payment. My pay is based on the load and what documents are required when turned in. If there is a delay, it has to be held until the tolls are posted. Any not there by then is out of my pocket. I am leased to a company.

As an employee, you had better look into this more.

It's good to learn on those PA back roads. You make it there you'll be good to go!

I set up a few of our company trucks through Ohio ez-pass a couple months ago. They only wanted basic info like companies name, address, truck description, plate #, and credit card info. It was very simple and took 15 minutes tops to complete.
I didn't have to give any insurance info, dot #'s, registration etc, and I used a personal credit card so I would assume anyone can hook their truck up.
I've heard I-pass is even simpler to do.

Finally KTA and OTA merged their passes. For years Oklahoma required a balance for tolls and this is why many companies did use the PikePass. Having unused cash sitting somewhere is not a good thing for companies spending $100,000 or more annually on Oklahoma tolls. I'm guessing they finally caught up to the rest of the world and started allowing charges and billing.

Thought about getting my own PikePass years ago with a previous company but ruled that out after I decided that the headache of getting reimbursed a month later instead of next week when the load paid negated the convieance it would have provided.

You can but the it's a lot more money for heavy trucks. May not be worth it. NH and DE seem to be popular states to get them for being cheaper.
