Cummins oil leak

So my truck needed an annual DOT inspection. Took it to our yard and we have mechanics there. I figured I'd spend a night at home and be out on the road next day, once they do service and DOT inspection on it.
Next morning they call me and say that truck got it service done but they found a front cover leak and taking it to Cummins to get that fixed under warranty.
That was last Tuesday. Now its Wednesday morning and I've just checked and was told they've pretty much rebuilt engine on it, new pistons/liners, head gasket, etc. Truck did consume a lot of oil, especially after it would get 10-15K miles on oil change. They normally change oil every 30K on these (ISX15)

 

Well I kept telling our shop that my engine consumes gallons of oil and it must be burning somewhere cause I didn't see any leaks. I was told to "keep an eye on it"
I think it must be defective liners like in this thread here....
