Get a card and start using it. That is how they monitor compliance.

I just found out today that my machine (Respironics System One) logs all the usage data internally and doesn't need a memory card except to transfer.

I took it to the company where I got it and they put a card in, the machine dumped its memory to the card, then they took it out and put in in their computer. Five minutes later I had a printout showing 100% compliance for the last 90 days, which was accepted by the doctor for my DOT.

Nice, I leave the card in and just take it in to have it read for my physical.

My cousin said the same thing, he slept like a rock (so he thought) and was tested for everything under the sun because he's always tired. One Dr finally said sleep study and we was waking up like 70 times a night. Sleep Apnea is a huge issue that doctors are still getting a grip on. DOT Physical kickback scam aside, people way over their BMI typically have something going on. Being over for muscle is obviously a different story. Another issue is doctors that blindly go by height/weight/neck. Because that doesn't give you a real BMI.

OK.......people with prostate issues wake up a few times a night to use the rest room. Let's not forget about having heartburn sometimes waking people up at night.....letsbtest for that too. Wait.....people not being able to sleep because worrying about bills, relation ships and other thing. Let's test for that too. I know vets that wake up alot at night with nightmares.....test them too. A reefer parked next to me and woke me up.....maybe a reefer free zone so my sleep doesn't get interrupted. When is enough enough lol

The FMCSA got their hands slapped by congress over this sleep apnea situation. They had to go back and redo most of this. Right now I don't think there is any federal rules on this.

The reason most of these carriers have all this sleep apnea stuff in place was getting ready for these regulations that were in place. There are also a lot of clinics across the country that have invested in sleep labs. Some of these medical examiners are also quoting rules that are not in force. Don't allow yourself to get mired up in this boondoggle.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Anybody tells me I have to go for a sleep study, I'm done! Hanging up the keys, shredding the CDL, and washing dishes for a living!

No screwed up quack is gonna destroy MY livelihood based on BS numbers that seem to pulled directly out of some idiots ####. And before some one jumps on me, I stand 6'2" in my socks, tip the scales at around 260lbs. Yes, according to the BMI chart I'm clinically obese. Yet, I also have a 39" waist (and a 32" in seam) and if I were to shed enough weight to match the screwed up BMI chart I would be a blasted skeleton with skin stretched over it!

Yes, I have a bit of a spare tire around the middle. I ain't denying it. But the overwhelming majority of my weight is muscle and bone. The only way for me to meet BMI is to drop most of the muscle. And since I'm a flatbedder, that means I'm done working (and most likely breathing, as well).

Sleep apnea is the modern day ADHD. Yes, the condition exists and should be treated IF ACTUALLY FOUND. But it is massively over-diagnosed just for the money fojnd in treatment. And I ain't playing there games.
