I am pretty happy with Verizons Coverage along I80 from NE through WY.
And 90/94 through Montana and ND.

Those are areas that Sprint and TMO are weak. Especially data.
Don't take my word for it. Look at their own coverage maps.

Sprint has improved. I wish i had a new phone to really see it.

I know other carriers have also improved. My new verizon phone has better coverage then the old phone.

As people buy new phones in the next couple of years. Coverage might be a different story then what it's been up to from years past.

nationwide phones and hotspots use different service providers, depending on the area your in, that's what my prepaid strait talk is doing.

Verizon doesn't charge for tethering and haven't in many years. I use both my i6s and Tab2 as a wireless hotspot all the time.

    Technically correct.
Any plan you can get today (from vzw) includes tethering/hotspot.
I have a no longer available plan and I SHOULD be paying for hotspot, but I'm not :p

I have t-mobile and other than spotty coverage at the truck stops in Laredo I really can't complain. I only run South Texas and the only absolute dead zones in my area are down sh16 in the Tilden area.

I enjoy not having my music streaming take up data and take advantage of the free video streaming as well.

I also have more dropped calls than I care to talk about lol, but that's for another day. It works for me in South Texas. I'm not sure I'd use it for otr work.

Yup same here, I have tmobile and it's been getting better. I usually go out east of Mississippi and pretty good data coverage. Seem to be getting good coverage in Canada too.

I do get drop calls but I'm rarely on the phone so it doesn't bother me.

Been looking at T-MOBILE for a data plan for a bit now... I have Verizon and will keep it for calls/text/data (coverage) but the data part is to pricey for me. So thinking I will add a T-Mobile account for the data, when I am in their coverage areas.

At OP, that $90/mo is that for a full "phone" setup or just a data plan? Thinking about using an iPad on their data plan so don't really need a full blown call/text/data plan.

Sorry for the late response. Been pretty busy last couple of weeks. The $90/mo is for a single phone line with unlimited LTE data, price may have changed though. I'm not sure what the pricing is on just a data plan. Most carriers I have checked have been about the same, if not more expensive for data-only devices like hotspots or tablets. Calling and texting doesn't generate a whole lot of network usage, and they need to assign a phone number to the account, regardless of weather or not you will be using it to make calls, that's just how mobile networks work.

I just checked, tablet plans start at $20/mo. the $20/mo includes 2gb of data, but includes binge on and stream on. Unlimited isn't available, 18gb is $80/mo

    MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this.
