    Hi Folks
i have 4 years of OTR experience. 2 of4 i am owner operator (worked with dryvans and reef )
now i pull overweight containers in Chicago`s area with 50-60 miles radius from rail yard in Elwood Il
i sleep every night at home 98% of cases , 5 days per week . average weekly mileage(220-400 miles per day ) 1300-1700 per week with avg rate 1,47$-1,57$ after all my expenses (i put in pocket)
    my avg check is 2100-2500
my questions are -------Does it make sense to go in LS ? will i have opportunity to make more money with them ?
i never used Electronics LogBook ---- does it make problem ?
what should i expect if i`ll sign in with them ? which trailer better ? is it hard to drive truck and to be self dispatch ?

Alex I was with LS for several months. I fell in crap from day one in a dedicated run, I had to leave due to a knee replacement, actually LS decided to terminate my lease since I would be down for 3-5 months, anyway as far as electronic logs, I found myself speeding to beat the clock. Some of the loads given were that close in pick up and delivery times, then the 30 minute break etc, as you know with paper small adjustments can be made to make it work. Now I'm not saying to alter paper logs, but sometimes you just needed another 30 minutes or so to get it done. With electronic, I don't care how much you plan a trip, there is always something to screw it up, accident, construction, traffic etc.... that you just can't for see as you know. With the runs I was doing, if we were late the run that we were getting paid for can be charged back to that broker, the best that I can say is if you decide to go with LS just stay in contact with the broker your doing the run for, me I won't go back to them, 65% of the load and then all of the little things that they charge you for just isn't worth it. I left a company that I was a o/o with making 2500-3500 a week AFTER expense, with LS on the dedicated I was lucky to clear 1000. Good luck

    Alex 82Rus Thanks this.

Sounds like you're already doing OK bringing home 2100-2500 and being home every night, but I guess we all have different needs.

If I was you, I wouldn't mess with a good thing....read these boArds and you'll see 2100 to 2500 a week and home every night is nothing to sneeze at.... I think going to Landstar you'd be looking for something that's not there right now....
