DOT Warnings

    Hi, hope somebody can help me with a question:
    I'm an O/O and my record was perfect but a friend who has a couple of driver's asked me for help him using his truck for a local load since one of his driver's couldn't be back in time to make the delivery. I agree to help him just for the sake of helping him, nothing else. But he want me to use a truck of his which has some problems like a cracked windshield. Since i would pass the scale house before it was suppose to open, i thought it would be ok, since the problem wasn't something which would put me or anybody else in danger (just a cracked windshield). But that day the scale house open much earlier and i was stopped not because of the windshield but because the truck didnt have a DOT number sticker (Yes, i know i should check for that on my PTI but i didnt catch that) and of course DOT also gave me a warning for the windshield. My question is:
    Does these warnings would affect me on the company which my truck is leased for or it will affect only my personal CSA score and my friend's company score? Do I have to report it to the company I'm leased for/

    No. Verbal or written a warning is a warning. It does not go on your CSA MVR or DAC.

    A warning is treated the same as a violation and you get points on your PSP profile and your buddy gets points on his DOT number. Be lucky they didn't ask you for a qualification card from your buddy and they didn't figure out that your buddy didn't make you pass a pre-employment physical, drug test and background check as you were basically an unqualified driver for your buddy.

    OK -

    If you received a DOT inspection report then yes - these warnings go against you and the company's CSA. Pretty sure the officer should of told you "hand this to the company and let them sign it and mail/fax it back in 15 days".

    I got a written warning from Txdps about one of my trailer doors but he even told me it wouldnt be on my CSA or PSP.

    Any and all written warnings given on an inspection form go on your PSP.
    So if it was to be turned in and returned by the company it will count against you. No matter what the officer said. Many don't realize this and think it's like writing a warning for a 4 wheeler that don't go on a MVR.
