I know we don't get paid DH and I'm ok with it.
I only started this thread to show potential future IC choice drivers what to expect.
I'm not trying to run off people I just want the good and bad info available.

Paid miles.
Booked 545
Actual 608
Difference 63 milesJonkie Thanks this. -
Well you're stouter than I am , mate . My dead head is 5,600 miles a week , ... That's too much to give for free , for myself
-
I have a conspiracy theory . Rates stay low so drivers will take more loads to make a living . Before deregulation there was a rate book for finished and unfinished material and most freight was line haul region to region. After dereg demand for goods faster than they could be hauled became an issue and control of freight rates ensures that drivers will take 2 loads for every one previously they used to break even on .

I'm not into conspiracy theories just facts but that don't mean you're wrong.
Jonkie Thanks this. -
I kind of lol @ weekly minimum guarantees. Where the company offers a weekly minimum of say 1k no matter how many miles are driven
Unless the driver goes home
Unless the driver turns down a load
Ensures warm bodies behind the wheel and no ones turning down that 5 drop in NYC after a short week -
Swift settled their $500,000,000.00 lawsuit with the drivers for short miles. I got $84 bucks and minus fees the check came in the mail for $50.37 some such. All this does is empower companies to continue paying short miles stealing money from their own drivers to run the company.

Are you taking the shortest route that the pay is figured on...?
Not saying it's the best way to go.... -
I'm not complaining about the miles been doing this long enough to know the game.
They're strictly for new drivers to see our reality.
I book a load and I'm happy with the revenue and miles I roll the fastest way usually.
I've spoken with several drivers who have voiced a concern so I'm addressing it.
These were or are drivers whom say they are experienced but did not know DH was so off and not even paid.Last edited: Apr 2, 2016
