25% of $50,000.00 = $12,500 (before per-diem allowance's and deductions)...how do YOU get away with paying $1,200 to $2,000?

On W2, I am paying (on average claiming zero) 17.5% income taxes. YOU are claiming that you pay right around 3% income tax on a 1099 (50,000 x .03 = 1,500).

People act like math don't exist.

I paid about the same as S M D my first year driving for an O/O. It was great and I paid $1531. Smh 1099 is not bad at all.

I have nothing to lie about. So you're sitting there pointing fingers calling me a lier when in fact I am not lying. It's not that big of a deal where I am about to scan my tax papers here and show you. But I,claimed everything as an owner op would. That would mean chains, wipers,tires, lights,two phones, lap top, fax machine, printer, log books, phone bills,on and on and on. Also I have a business card through chase and everytime I eat or spend any money ON THE ROAD, I swipe that card. Then when the end of the year comes I print out the statements and claim them. Imalways had good years when it came down to taxes at 1099 or else I wouldn't have done it.

When you eat on the road that's part of your logbook deduction - $63/day.
