Talked with Mike today in recruiting and he offered me a position...looking at the 9th or 10th for orientation.. question or you guys who have been there a bit..
I read the newsletter today and the section reference home time... it stated that if you took more days then you have accumulated, example 3 weeks out and take 4 days off, that you would not be able to take home time again till you were out, in this example for 4 weeks. Are they flexible now and then when it comes to this? I understand if the wheels ain't turning nobody is making money...
Great Plains Transport - A company that cares about drivers... NO BS.

I usually shoot for days off that equal the amount of weeks ive been been out. One rule of thumb I personally stick to is if (for example)I had 3 weeks out I try to limit it to 72 hours, basically 24 hrs off for each week. Taking too much can hurt you on miles. They only time I had an extra day is when I got home a bit too early and I had a very important ENT doctors appointment and they didn't want to risk getting me out and back and missing it. I recommend setting your request 1-2 days before and even just to make sure you can get home in time for it. Freight is a bit like a roller coaster this year, and sometimes a shipper, receiver, broker, or Ma Nature can throw a wrench into the works at the last minute.
One example would be if you had to run through Wyoming..... Now there's a state that has had snow even in June.... -

Anonymousproxy, You're an OMC fan I take it? Scott Moughton is a good friend of mine. They were just in Dallas a couple months ago and it was awesome to spend some time with him. They are home now finishing up the trilogy album...
Anyway, I was wondering if they hire out of Texas? Seems I spoke to early of the company I run for now. Looking for a place to call home. -
Queensryche, actually. I wasnt much of a fan of the albums that came after "promised land, especially that God-awful dedicated to chaos" album. I give the original singer credit for the o:mc album that he came up with but the music direction after '94 turned me off with the exception of a few songs. The two lp's with the new singer really brought me back to that band's music.

Yes they do hire out of Texas, I believe.
Lumpy1 Thanks this. -
Do you run off of recap, or do some resets while out?

Plan on running recap, most of the time when you do a reset it will be at home.
