leased on to a small outfit in Oregon, have plenty of freights but nothing ever over $2.5/mile. usually $2.0. Not huge pay but decent and constant.
I hear if you try to go east from California there is very little freight going out that way.
Have seen many flatbed at the Ontario truck stop, talk to many who are stuck many days there.
There are more loads coming out of WA going east.
The lack of experience will make it difficult for you to join a decent outfit. most won't hire without. Worked Swift flatbed a while a few years ago to acquire the experience then moved on to System and eventually bought own truck.
I have not heard or seen many MERCER truck in the area.
I am currently researching this, thinking to move to MERCER

@CJndaTruck
How is the west coast with Mercer?
do you run lots of WA to OR to CA? -
It's a bit of a monster at times. I'm out east right now because freight died (well rates did) out west this winter. I came east to go to the truck show. But I was looking at the boards and it looks like it's time to work the west coast again. Rates are back up. The west coast is tough for most here at first. Yes you will see guys parked in Ontario for a week trying to head east. For whatever reason I rarely sat for a day and usually do very well out there. Most of those sitting are just waiting for something heading east. Not much OR but plenty of CA to WA and back. Even more CA to CA that pays very well.nofilter Thanks this.

Hey guys, I hate to jump in here, but I just made the leap and bought a truck. I'm leasing to Mercer and scheduledto start orientation on the 16th. I just had a few questions about orientation and running lanes. I live near Pittsburgh and have some shippers I've worked with as a company driver that I can haul out of but I want options. Does anyone run my area pretty consistently? Thanks

That area is golden. Even good dedicated opportunities there.
