mercer transportation

I put my app in , anyone been by the yard lately. I was thinking I would rather buy a used trailer if there in decent shape .
Couple of specific questions I couldn't find the answer to .
The stuff that is sold in the Mercer equipment store,
Is it made in China . I found chains and binders made here in the USA and tarps too. Just want to buy as much as possible USA made .

 

I know the rubber tarp bungies are Goldline, made in the USA. Much better quality than the Sri Lanka made ones

 

The Mercer gear is good quality. I won't swear that everything is made in the USA (I never noticed the bunnies). But the important stuff is.

 

Why not get tires in a state we are tax exempt in? Saves a lot of money! I live in Charlotte and hardly get any truck work done there or parts.

If you had this work done but didn't do it with brand new tires then the wear that was already started will continue. Once tires start to wear badly they tend to continue that even if the alignment or other issues are fixed.

 

I really wouldn't say that in a public post these days. I lost a contract already over a post here on TTR ... "social media" is costing people jobs every day .. be careful

 

Its the same brand stuff sold anywhere else, the price is reasonable

 

You MUST CALL THE LOG DEPARTMENT and tell them it was personal conveyance ... you should make those notes but also just let it show driving. The log dept. will make the necessary corrections when you inform them.

New regulations will require all ELD's to have ability to show personal conveyance so this is just a temporary issue anyway.

 

I think after talking with @mtoo and 2 other Mercer folks, we have almost everything taken care of. Just need a winch bar, lumber, rubber belting, a couple of binders, a dozen steel protectors and 31" tarp straps.

 

Well I was told to do it the way I'm doing it as it was fine. But I can see where they might want a call to ensure there was no confusion. Either way it's pretty simple.

Now being as I can't even use the latest version on my dedicated device now, I guess I need to upgrade from my El Cheapo tablet for the next update.

 

Yeah, I could see how they might like the call, but the log department is the one that told me to do the same thing you are doing. They probably don't want 1500 drivers calling everytime we run for a cheeseburger.
