Mercer orientation

While this sounds harsh, it may be very accurate. Mercer is not a good fit for guys that can't separate emotion from logic driven business decisions.

I hadn't thought of it in such simple terms but it's very accurate. You gotta keep the emotions out of it and use only sound business decisions.

 

I'm not mad, how the hell did you come up with that. All I'm saying is that if I didn't disclose that I had a knee replacement they wouldn't have asked for a medical clearance. All the jobs I held if I went out for a medical condition then they would have the right to ask for clearance to return to work, but since I never worked for them I was asking opinions as to why they even had the right to ask for that, if my doctor says I'm good to go that's it, I'm not a company driver, I have my own workers comp what would it matter. That was the question.

 

I gave an honest opinion. It comes from seeing the signs over m y 5 years here. If ya have problems with minor details it doesn't work out. Was the knee replacement acknowledged on your current physical?

 

To answer your question, although you will be a subcontractor, you will be insured under the motor carrier's primary liability, so they're at risk for what happens with your truck. Because it is a requirement that we all have medical cards, and even though you have one that's good for two years, they can ask for the clearance because you disclosed it, which BTW was the right thing to do.

On a side note, the only people that make the decision as to whether or not you're a fit, aren't on this forum, they are in Louisville, KY!!

Louisville makes the decision whether you meet the qualifications. That is different than it being a good fit for someone.
