Oh, you guys are fraidy cats. I've worked the blitz every year I've been out here. This will only be my 6th one, but ive never been inspected...blitz or otherwise...except paperwork. I'll admit, though, I'm just lucky. It seems everytime I'm pulled in the truck in front of me takes the last inspection spot.

Thanks, my people thought I ran it out of fuel with 3/8 on the gage. Now I know they can go bad but it never lied to me before. RR Comes out puts 20 gal in takes it to 1/2 tank, fills the filter,primes it and it starts up. Head to the pilot and put 146 gal in so that's a total of 164 gal. The fule capacity for both tanks is 220. This I don't understand.

After you have been out here a while and written up on a few bogus things, your opinion may change. I never had a problem with an honest inspection, even if they found something.
But sooner or later you will be written up for for something that is bogus. I began taking this week off, shortly after it became a yearly thingroshea, Big John Classic HQ, Truckin_Texas91411 and 3 others Thank this. -
If your truck draws from the top, it could have developed a crack in the pickup tube and began to suck air. You can shut off one tank at a time and see if one side will draw down past 3/8.

Also it's good to have 4 shut off valves on your fuel tanks, each side needs a shut off valve on the draw hose and one one return hose. That way you can transfer fuel from one tank to the other or just shut one tank off.Lone Ranger 13 and Highway Sailor Thank this.

I don't like bottom draw cause them every bit of junk gets sucked up to the engine. If you run hard it wouldn't be a problem but I'm lazy and don't work hard. I haven't put fuel in my truck in almost a month. That's a long time for bacteria and algae to form.
Highway Sailor: two things to check for, the pick up tube like mtoo said. And the crossover lines and valves. Could be you ran out in one tank while the other was a 3rd full. In most trucks the gauge only reads from 1 tank.
Also get rid of those anti siphone guards. If you didn't have them you could of found your problem work a broomstick. Buy locking caps if you're worried about your fuel being stolen.Highway Sailor Thanks this. -
