So angry .... you need to deal with more brokers and play them against each other.. if you feel they are still taking 1000 off the top then call the customer yourself and offer for a rate between what broker wants to pay you and what you think they're charging customer ...

The greed with brokers is rampant. I'm finding out that there making $250+ on booked shipments.

There should be a requirement for shippers to deal directly with carriers, and some re-regulation of the rates. (Yeah I know I'll get slammed for saying that, but this industry hasn't done a good job of policing itself since de-regulation)

Yeah, you'd also have to convince the shippers that them hiring people and taking out the bond is worth it to them from a cost savings standpoint. Have fun with that.

Dealing direct with shippers wouldn't probably benefit you. They'll pay you the same or a crumb more than a broker would. Cheap carriers offer good service too.

Not true. Dealing with shippers will give you information to freight before it ever hit's a loadboard. Some brokers can cover the freight before putting it out on the loadboard. So print out some business cards, and start emailing shippers.
