Doesn't every truck and trailer have to be i spected annually by an authorized shop?
Is the shop held accountable at all for anything missed or "overlooked "?
If all this was about safety instead of money, "qualified " parties would be responsible for keeping the truck in safe working order, not some 21 year old kid who is clueless.bowhunter67 and Scrapdaddy Thank this. -

We don't even treat crimminals as bad as the DOT does during this "blitz." I am sure the USSR and other socialist country's use this broad based enforcement also. This is nothing more than a 72 hr cash grab. Let me put it like this......what do you think would happen if all the Major cities with an NFL or MLB team did a so called DUI safety blitz near the stadiums after a game. There is your answer. This has nothing to do this safety. As for me.....got some work around the house to catch up on. See you in 3 days after martial law is done. Good luck.

I could not have said it better myself. Nothing more than a money racket. DOT = Papers please.bowhunter67 and freightwipper Thank this.

Yup lol... Just like at the east German Boarder lol.
"PAPERS PLEASE!!!"
Scrapdaddy, bowhunter67 and freightwipper Thank this. -
But but but... If you are being a good little subject, you have nothing to worry about.bowhunter67 Thanks this.
-
But which butt is hiding the drugs? People do that. If you aren't hiding any, why are you afraid?
-
It's about wanting to be left alone and free. What right do you have to stop me from doing anything if I'm not hurting anyone else ? If you aren't hiding any, why are you afraid? That is a liberal statement not the statement of a free man. I don't kneel at the boots of authority, remember they work for us not the other way around.
-
Exactly!!!
Every single time a subject like this comes up, there is always someone who pipes up with, "If you don't do anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about." Which of course is a crock. Non of us are perfect and if they want to they can find something on anyone, especially when using these broad sweeping methods.
It doesn't matter what law or what industry, we the people have a right to be free unless we are infringing on someone else's right to be free.
For ALL those who think broad sweeping approaches are a good thing then this is what they should have:
- Automatic speeding ticket dispenser built into the dash of their truck. Issues ticket even if only 1 MPH over.
- Driver facing cameras in multiple locations.
- Automatic citation dispenser if moving the truck without wearing seatbelt, even if only moving a few inches.
- Breathalyzer at any time on demand and always at the wheel before starting your truck or car.
- Tax audits every year. (Hey, they're perfect right, why stop at trucking?).
- Cameras in every room of their homes.
- Listening devices on all phones.
- Data monitoring.
- Drug test every day. (Urine and hair)
- Cameras to automatically put you on duty if you so much as look at your truck whenever you get in or out.
- Cameras to monitor your daily inspection and automatically shut your truck off for 10 hours if a single step is missed.
- Anything else the over reaching government agencies think is a good idea to monitor.
HOWEVER, what they really mean is, "If you do what I do, you have nothing to worry about and the standard should never be more than what I can bear".
