I scheduled for home time on the 6th. That's what my original idea wasalghazi Thanks this.

your thread title basically asks, if you should give a 2 week notice to quit.
all i can say is, I NEVER GIVE notice.
the company WILL NOTICE in 2 weeks, i ain't there no more.
i treat them, as they treated me.
no respect towards me, or the inability to work with me?
then screw'em
now yes i know, it's "the proper thing to do, give a notice"
but this has NEVER stopped me from getting another job.
get another job lined up first, then clean out and get out.Friday, CargoWahgo, Western flyer and 1 other person Thank this. -
Twice I've quit a company and attempted to give notice and both times I was routed straight in with a load and sent off with a handshake and a come back to work for us anytime.
Giving notice doesn't seem to mean anything as a driver. Just quit, drivers come and drivers go, a company that throws a fit over you leaving probably wasn't worth much anyway.Friday, Lepton1, David_Simpson and 2 others Thank this. -
Changing drivers is no more than changing a worn out tire to them.Friday, CargoWahgo, NavigatorWife and 3 others Thank this.

Never give notice. It is like wearing large mirrored glasses in a poker game. Protect yourself always in this life.
Friday, David_Simpson, John Dewart and 2 others Thank this. -
some times, when notice is given, you are fired on the spot.
so now when you fill ut applications, (if the new job didn't work out), many if not all applications ask, "were you ever fired from a job, and why"?
although you'd have a valid reason (gave notice) you still got fired, but i would think a new employer would shrug his shoulders, once you explained you gave notice first..THEN got fired!Last edited: Jun 21, 2016

I'm surprised you want to leave right now. Haven't you been getting all the BS Qualcomm spam saying "we got a new customer!" and "freight is picking up!" and "we need you for the big June-July freight surge!"?
Don't you believe them?NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
Why is your brother the problem? Is he new or just won't work? Are you hanging him out to dry if you leave? Here's my point...If he's new, train him and then both of you move on to a good team company.

he's been here for 5 months. I did train him, he likes to stop, likes to take breaks a lot, I look at his logs and he can't do more than 3hrs without stopping. He hasn't really cracked 650 more than a few times, and due to this, I believe they are cutting our miles. It doesn't make any sense why I was completely slammed for the whole time I was here, and then cuts out as soon as he gets in my truck. I am hanging him out to dry, but I have bills and he does not.Lepton1 Thanks this.
