Clearly, it has never crossed your mind how big responsibility you carry driving a truck.

Listen to you two bicker about responsibility.

Trucks and NYC are two things that have changed during my life time.

In actuality here is the history of the GWB.

The Cross Bronx expressway, I-95 was a war project of the US Government deemed CRITICAL to the United States in time of War. Prior to 95 being built, that entire strip of land was a complete, living and breathing Neighborhood district area shops, coffee houses, bakeries, tons of homes, businesses etc. ALL. PAVED. OVER. for the good of the USA.

Then we come through with the trucks.

NYC in the 80's was really bad on crime, vice and dangerous situations. There isnt that many other places then in that time period equal to NYC. Eventually during my life time other places become more dangeorus while NYC got cleaned up. It depends on how you see it.

As a 20 year old trucking through there, you don't see what I have seen when I was 20. And I don't see what my uncle saw when HE was 20. You pass forward the knowledge of what was.

Clearly you dont know how to drive. 70 in the rain yeah maybe not. But 70 at the dead of night through nyc is nothing. Thats how you run to get to Boston, do 3-5drops, and get back to nyc before 3 to get through the crossbronx in a reasonable amount of time

Clearly one who does so, does not own the truck! Pot holes there are huge.

You beat me with stupidity. Anyways cross bronx is already jammed when you come back from your Boston after 3-5 drops at or before 3 pm. Also be carrefoul at I-95 in CT, it may be nasty already, not to mention I-495 in MA, where you gonna spend a while.

Potholes? Piss on them. Tires can be replaced. Forget the pothole when I recall entire sections of bridges up there without anything called a railing for you to slide off in the rain at night and plummet 100 feet to your death to be the morning's breaking news.

That stretch of road is not for rookies. You have to learn every inch of it down to the exact lanes you need to be in miles before the associated ramps and interchanges working through there. And remember one thing above all.

Any car in NYC will be GLAD for you to hit them. They will take your insurance, sue your ### off and leave you in the poor house or even jailed. THAT is not one area to find yourself in that kind of trouble.

Clearly, we are all clearly using the word clearly too much here.

I highlighted your problem in bold. Gallup and all the little towns around it are populated by a lot of Navajo and they have a bad habit of doing #### like that. If you've ever been out towards Cuba, NM on US 550, it's much the same story.

When something like this happens there's only 2 things that can land on your side:dash cam video or witnesses. Otherwise, the benefit of doubt goes to the non-CDL holder. Had it happen to me. I never even TOUCHED the other vehicle. But he brake checked me, called in a hit and run on me, and I got pulled over. Cop wrote it up as my fault, no tickets, no damage to my truck, and a damaged bumper on the car. Our insurance denied the claim and their insurance eventually gave it to a credit collection agency saying I was an uninsured owner (was a company driver.)

Long story short, get a dash cam, a rider, or make sure you shut the road down and have witnesses. That's about it.
