I was one of those kids breaking glass once.... Baltimore was a tough street situation back then.

One nice thing about the south suh, it takes a while for things to get done, not like the predators back home.

Ahhh ... the good ole days. An under building dock in Philly. I'm just glad the dock stopped me before the mirrors got to that 4" lolly column right behind the door. An equal amount of space on the other side .... lol

Yes that's how close these docks were too. Have to be real careful backing in because it was too easy to catch the open door of the next trailer and back it right off the end of the trailer.

I've posted these elsewhere, but this is a fun spot, too.
    -side street delivery
    -48' van
-cars parked on curb opposite the dock
-dock is approximately 50' away from the emergency entrance
    - pedestrians, POVs, and let's not forget ambulances
-topping it off, doing this at approximately 3:00 am (9:00 pm on Sundays)...

That was up in Rhode Island. And actually, it was a live load. No landing gear cranking required. Completely agree with these places being way better than new warehouses. By the time I walked inside after hitting the dock they already had two pallets on the truck. The whole loading took less than 10 minutes.

    In the dark too. Yawn.

Our drop lot looks just like the original post where we P/U the loaded ones. Trailers have ratcheting landing gear handles.

And in the spirit of making fun of myself.. Earlier this morning, all the lights on and couldn't see the lines... Took me about 10 minutes to back up to this door. There were actually no cars around then to make it even easier. Couldn't get it to sit perpendicular to the door for the life of me. So yeah. Real world backing rofl

Somebody enlighten me on why that was considered a hard back? Plenty of room to set up blindside.

It wasn't really. I'm assuming you're referring to that first post on this thread. But it was certainly a little bit more difficult than what people freak out about at the DMV test. That's only there to give a little bit of perspective
