Do any of you experienced drivers use any of those legal services were you are basically keeping a lawyer on retainer?
I started orientation today and they offered it to us. Was also offered it back at school and was wondering is it worth it or just a gimmick to profit off newb drivers who don't know any better.

The TVC service really worked for me on a few occasions. I was well pleased. You never know when you will need a lawyer it is pretty inexpensive.
Mtn Gal Thanks this. -
From what I gather they're a crapshoot. Maybe they will come through when you need them. Maybe not. But regardless. You have to stay on top of them and keep following up, or down the road you may be in for an unpleasant surprise regarding a matter they were supposed to address, bites you in the butt.

I do not use them nor do I recommend them. The choice of a lawyer should not be based on advertising.

What is the going rate for needing a traffic lawyer nowadays? Everyone of them advertise whether, internet, word of mouth, billboards or ancient phone book.
-
Why do you need it if you obey the speed limit and road sign. Ain't u a professional driver? In 5 years I never needed a lawyer. And with the money I save by not giving it to a legal advice group, I already have enough save to buy o.j Simpson lawyer

At least with a lawyer who is paying for advertising and has a brick and mortar office, you can sort of check them out and feel good or not good about them and move on. With the pre-paid outfits, you're buying a pig in a poke and you're stuck with whoever they can come up with on short notice who might not know ANY of the judges in the precinct where you need help. Furthermore, they may have gotten their law degree by answering an ad in the back of Rolling Stone Magazine for all you can ascertain about them.

I don't know what they charge a month but in 35 years I doubt that I have spent 300 bucks total for all fines and penalties total . That's about 8.60 a year I bet the dues are more than that !
It is cheaper to keep your record clean than it is to get your mess cleaned up . -
I think it was like $7 something a week.
Thanks for the responses. Think I'll just leave it alone for now. -
Wow 7 bucks a week is over 12 grand over 35 years !!!! That would be enough to hire Perry Mason to and Jesse Jackson to defend me LOL .
