actually if you learn to handle a truck in winter conditions you will be able to handle any conditions.having worked for usa for awhile i find that the mileage went up during the winter.i suspect it's because the new drivers find driving during the spring'summer and fall fun but driving in the mountains and along the great lakes in winter conditions is'nt and they quit in droves.

    Bluesdad,

Thank you for your information you shared in your post.

I have never heard anything negative about USA trucking. If I do sign up with them, when I am "home" I do have two or three areas where the trucker's park their rigs for a night or two. That way I can catch a ride home either from friends, family, or cab, etc.

The way things look at the moment, training will not begin until after the first of the new year to allow me to take care of some family situations and then begin my new career.

USA truck has a dropyard(ABF) in Romulis right there by the D... you drop your trailer there and bobtail home...they had me bobtail home from Detroit more then once when I worked there...

Kinda thought about waiting but I figured if my trainer helps me get through the icy season:biggrin_2555: I'll be off and running when the sunshine comes. Just another angle to look at.

I was informed yesterday that USA is hiring only teams right now....us that accurate?
With the Wall Street mess going on, which I suspect has been building up for years, is USA hiring fewer drivers, or teams?

I know they are low on trainers. Was supposed to leave last Friday and my trainer isn't supposed to pick me up until tonite because dispatch keeps routing his pick-ups out of the area. Also when I was finishing school a couple of people were dropped by USA because of lack of trainers for their region.
