Too much tequila, and I get placarded..... And it becomes hazardous to my health, especially if the bartender girl is hot.

This is why alcohol loads should be placarded.

This last winter I took a load up to an oil rig just east of Cheyenne from OKC. Instead of running to Denver and then north on I-25, I elected to work my way up to I-80 and then west to avoid a blizzard.
I got pulled into the scale east of Cheyenne to check my papers. As the Wyoming agent was entering my truck information into the computer he asked, "What cargo are you carrying?"
I said, "Twenty four tons of joints."
The agent visibly recoiled and looked at me.
"That's drill pipe for that drilling rig you can see out your window".
At that all the agents started to laugh. Drill pipe is noted on the waybill as "joints".tanker1045, MidWest_MacDaddy, Ryan423 and 3 others Thank this. -

I dare anybody to take a refrigerated trailer, wrap it in paper, then tell them you're pulling the world's largest reefer load!!

If there's one thing I'm thankful for, its tequila.

Lol..I don't drink so do whatever you want. But yes you do need a liquor permit in certain states.

I regularly haul an East Tennessee brown liquid all over the country, never had placards or permits. Never had anything but good natured jokes at scales.
MidWest_MacDaddy and Jdm5jdm5 Thank this. -
No,but a few Hazmat laws don't make sense.Example,I used to haul car batteries from Budget Batteries or maybe it was Batteries Plus, not sure anyway these batteries had acid in them, except these loads were exempt from placarding.Yes,they were batteries but they were selling them as scrap lead so no placards offered or no hazmat endorsement needed.Didn't believe them and called DOT.They said "yes this is correct".OKJdm5jdm5 Thanks this.
