Hi all just note on my first months as a driver. It was alittle rocky at the start, Iwent to school, got my license and owned the world right? Well after much reading and help from this board I decided Mverick was the way to go(untill they told me about the endless wait). So after more reading and help from this board I decided TMC was it. Called, got in the next week, great right? Well I drove all the way from detroit to des moines, started class, pissed some people off(my frustration about not being the same #1 student from cdl school to here led to some frustration and, well it wasnt pretty), but they let me out and stood by their word about not saying anything bad in references and paying me what was owed and I learned a ton about securement, It was a good learning experience. I got back home and a friend had me put an app in for a cushy hourly driving job from detroit to cincinatti and back , which as most of you can attest, a new guy is never gonna get, but Ithought what the heck right? Then Maverick calls Ican start specilised next week, they bus me all the way to laurisburg SC, Istart that class, great people, great program, I loved it and thought I was homefree. I was scoring well, got my job offer, and was starting glass class. Then came the call, my wife said they accepted my app at the local company, and wanted to know when I could start. My heart sank, Do I tell my wife and 6 year old daughter"no daddys going stay with this and be gone weeks at atime" or do Itell the people who have invested all this time and money into me "sorry gotta go"? Not to metion Ive read about the bad things that happen to jobhoppers. Well Icalled my instructor at 9:00 pm that night and explained the situation and her words exactly were "have you lost your mind? you have to go!!!" So the next morning I went to talk to the head guy to explain what was happening face to face(Ifelt so bad I even told him Id pay my own way back and just call it flush) He said no, and not only would they pay me my money and give me a bus ticket back but wrote me a reference letter and offerd to tak me back"in a second" if things didnt work out. So now i come back home and take this obsenely overpaid and underworked job(work 44 -45hrs a week and get paid for 50,resonable benefits, two weeks paid vacation, etc. staight drive from warren to cinci drop and hook...." Imust be living a charmed life. I absolutly lovve my job, Im home every day 3 days a week off. I just dont know what Im going to do if Iever have to get a real job again. But it all started from reading this forum, I could never thank you all enough. But Ill start by letting you in front of me in traffic ha ha.Anyway Ill keep you posted.( Im sure Ill pay for this run of luck eventually)

You got quite a streak of luck going there, keep it up and all the best to you-cant beat getting training at TMC, then being able to leave with no problems, then go to maverick and do the same-better watch out though, good luck ends sometime

Interesting story, I'm surprised they took it that well, most of the bigger companys aren't very forgiving. It's always good to hear someone's happy out there, for a change.
