The Union 76 at exit 5 OH tpk (Toledo 5), now the TA had one large room off the mens room that had about 12 shower heads on all 4 walls, just like a hs locker room. Didn't have private showers until the early 80's.

I77 in W.Va was still 2 lane in places and god forbid you got stuck behind a trk with a 238 Detroit or a 290 Cummins

Is the Triple T (TTT) not around in Tucson anymore? I know been 10yrs or better since I been out that way. But, they still had the full service islands even then. Just cost $$$ extra. Imagine that...
Or the 49er in Sacrimento. Wasn't really a fan of the place, but had pretty good food.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
remember when trucks could run any lane instead of having to stay in the two right lanes. When I started trucking 32 years ago we could run the left lane(or lanes) on I-285 around Atlanta and traffic would be running 70 mph all day long because trucks could scoot over in the left lane to pass the guy in a coma driving a mini van in the second lane. Now we have to ride behind the airhead for 56 miles around the loop. Another remember when is trucks that had the windshield wipers that ran off air pressure. The wipers would stop and hesitate or run 200 miles an hour across your windshield. Heck I had a wiper arm sling off into the woods about 50 yards because my wipers were flopping across the window so fast. And lets not forget the matchbox 1976 peterbilt daycab cabover with no power steering and a steering wheel as big around as a tractor tire. Mine had a 13 speed with a shiny 290 cummins. That miserable little cabbed truck would fly.

I still smile at the remnants of the pre cell phone era. The phone booths in the lounges that are now closets. The mounts at the dinner table that once held phones.
And the days when you couldn't wait to get home to load up on another two dozen cassette tapes.x1Heavy, desperado75, 7-UP and 1 other person Thank this. -
