Marten trailers, of which there are thousands, it seems, no longer have vent doors, maybe haven't for a very long time.

The ones that were purchased new had them, the used ones mostly don't. I liked the ones with the door in the upper front corner, too, but you almost never see one of those anymore.

    Never seen a keypad.

Don't touch it! It's a nuclear launch activator!

That keypad looks like something that would be used for an alarm system or some form of access control.

Is it mounted flat against the door? looking around the inside of the doors, see anything that looks like an alarm sensor.

I concur. That's some sort of lock. May have been to open the doors, or just an alarm.

It is not mounted flat against the door. You wouldn't be able to slide your hand behind it, but you could slide something thinner. It's pre-cooling to -10 but in the morning I will open the door and look around on the inside of the door to see if there is any wiring. Because I can open the doors without a code, it doesn't have the bolt-locks like a safe, but there may be something like a magnetized lock that has been disabled.

I will look closer in the morning.

To launch a nuclear missile, don't you have to have the launch code and 2 keys? A couple of our trucks have 3' keys sticking out of the rear of their trailers. I thought those were so the drivers could wind up their trucks and make them go faster. Those keys might very well be the 2 required launch keys. It now makes perfect sense why the boss would send those 2 trucks in a completely opposite direction than I am heading. Cannot put the keys and the keypad for the launch code in the same place at the same time. Bad things might happen.

Interesting observation today. When I arrived at the shipper and opened the doors, I took the opportunity to look closely at the inside around the frame. The pictures below show what I saw. Apparently the keypad device IS very much like the electronic locks on gun safes, but evidently it has been disabled.
