I recently work for a company in Grand Rapids Michigan. The company is Sunset Express LLC. He took my truck from my property with all my belongings still inside it! Then stole all of my paper logs that were unsigned. The next day he let me get my things, but no logs. He later took escrow and insurance from me to the tune of $600. I only worked for him 1 week. I filed a dispute with wage dept through the state. They cant make him pay, because i dont have my logs! This owner is a slime ball, who screws his employees and lives high on the hog in a expensive house in Forest Hills.
If you are thinking of working for him DONT do it, or screwed without a kiss you will be.

Now tell us what really happened. You must have really messed something up if they took the truck away from you just a week after you got hired

There is of course more to the story? Just out of the blue for no reason this dude shows up and tows the truck away? And of course how are you completing logs and not signing them? They are NOT logs if you didn't sign them.. they are pieces of paper

There's 2 sides to every story, then there's the truth.....

I'm sure there's way more to this story....

Maybe there isn't more to the story?

Maybe a bear doesn't #### in the woods....

Of course it's a one post wonder.
People on here know I'm the last to defend a trucking company. Truck towed from house after working one week? Something doesn't add up.
Now one thing I will say about the owner. Smells like he has been through this before. He knew no wage inquiry would happen without logs. But maybe driver didn't turn in any log copies. Really just not enough of story here. Moving on.

You said MY truck, as in you hold the title. Or was it HIS truck that you were either leasing from him, or driving as a company driver?

Got the truck towed away after only 1 week? How about giving a reason why. The OP must've really messed up for that to happen.

Sitting at the house for a week with a company truck does not constitute work. Maybe ya shoulda been pullin loads.

i believe this is a gainey company, they have that shack next to super service's (formerly gainey transportation prior to bankruptcy and being bought out etc) headquarters.

this doesnt surprise me, its how fleecing works alot of the time. this guy isnt guilt free, i mean how do you wash out within ONE week. im sure it was a LEASE, and you probably signed a very lengthy contract/agreement. it wasnt "your" truck.

hes a slime ball, true. screws his employees, im sure its true to some extent. lives in a mansion in forest hills, this is likely true.

your story smells though and id chalk it up as a learning experience

    x1Heavy and TST65 Thank this.
