Outside of trucking, how is the rest of the economy in Nevada?

If you look on the website there are over 100 students that pass their test the first go round each month, and figure another 100 the second and third. 200 student drivers a month times 12, 2400 students a year out on the road at minimum, What a nightmare scenario......

Yeah, but how many stay is the question. I would probably say MAYBE 50% make it through TNT before quitting, out of the 50%, maybe 10% last a year. IMO and experience training those guys.

Does anyone track why they leave? Coming from corporate America there is a cost to recruit, hire, train, and employees with less than a year on the job cost almost twice as much to manage. Seems to me you would save thousands trying to keep folks, or at least trying to mitigate the reasons they leave, and try and weed those out before hiring.

Honestly don't know if they are tracking it or not. But I suspect that many buy into all the hype, and do not realize that being out on the road for 3-4 weeks at a time and then only getting 3-4 days off is not like home. THen there is the hours for a reefer driver, a lot of nights and 3AM's, then the pay for a company driver is not all that great if you figure out the hours vs pay. Then Primes policy of the light weight trucks also for company solo drivers. Try living in you bathroom tub for 3 weeks and see how you feel.

I'm not sure they force you into the lightweight trucks, I've been told you're allowed to choose between the lightweight (called the Eco Featherweight) and the full-size cab (I think it's called the condo - not sure what the different sleeper cab sizes are called). I'm currently at the campus inn on day 2 of orientation and I'm seeing a lot of trucks with pretty big cabs (think a fully round arc from the windshield to the top), and a handful with flat tops (as if you took a knife and horizontally sliced off the top section).

The Eco cab you make I think 44c per mile, while the fullsize cab is 38c.

What you will see at Campus inn are Full Size Condo's as those are trainers trucks.

You're most probably right that those are trainers' trucks (I've only been here a couple of days). But it also says on their webpage that describes the training program that you have a choice between trucks:

Of course it's very possible that info may be out of date.

Anyway, to get back to the main topic of this thread: yes, you do have to speak to your assigned recruiter. I know this because I applied to Prime twice: the first time my recruiter sort of brushed me off quickly because I'd only listed my US work history, which isn't much (I've spent a lot of time overseas). I applied again after about ten days in hopes of getting my app sent to a different recruiter - but I ended up getting put through to the very same person. Luckily this time they were more understanding and heard me out.

Long story short, it seems like once your name is in their computer system, you're assigned to that person for good. I can see why they'd want to do that, it makes it less of a headache for recruiters to keep track of people, and basically defeats someone trying to do the very thing I was trying to do :p. I mean my issue was pretty innocuous, but other people might have criminal histories, etc. to hide. And if they're able to apply again and again and get different people each time, and if the new recruiter doesn't catch that they've applied before (people are only human), then that's bad news.

Having said that, If you're having difficulty getting ahold of your assigned recruiter my advice would be to just call the main recruiting line and explain to whoever picks up that you're having a hard time getting in touch with them. They should be able to sort you out by either routing you to their extension or getting them to call you back.
