I would love to do more of my own work. Always did my own brake jobs on cars and pickups I've owned over the years, can't imagine big truck brakes could be very hard to do. I just don't have a place to do it nor the big tools to do it right now.
I went into the TA to get new steer brakes on because they were last done in 2011 plus they are 3/8's and the young punk tech refused to do it and charged me like $50 bucks for a looksee fee. In a situation like that, I would love to be able to just replace the brakes on my own without the drama mama boys arguing with me.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
@scottied67 Truck brakes are way easier to do than cars. Trucks in general are easier to work on than automotive. I have all the patience in the world when wrenching on trucks and equipment. However, I can only handle automotive in short doses (like an oil change or shocks). I'd probably go insane if I had to fix cars all day lol.
scottied67 and G13Tomcat Thank this. -
^^^ How true!! Worked on my wife's Ford FOCKUS all day yesterday.....and would much rather have been wrenching on bossman's Pete's..... ANY DAY...

Throw a ratchet strap on the bar, you can bend those flap arms back more or less in to place. Replacing a mudflap is easy. I carry a drill, don't even have to buy flaps. Walk around the truckstops for a few minutes and find one
