I'm not perfect but been driving on and off since 96 and back then you didn't see all these trucks with crushed or missing extenders and bumpers that used to be like being on twisted trucker or the wall of shame 20 years ago. I did put a crease in one years ago because I caught it before it got worst. also drivers today have 5th wheels up to close to the cab
Pop,snap, darn it! Popped a cab extender!

Couldn't damage like this be done by someone backing a trailer into it?
I suppose that's silly. Shop would know the difference.
Idk. I wouldn't say ####. But at the same time, that's me not in that situation talking. Maybe I would.
Was there a checklist done when you received the truck? I didn't have anyone look at it when I got it. Took a bunch of pictures and went on my way. Didn't even know someone was supposed to check it out until a couple months later.
Can you beat that thing with hammer until it looks like it's in place? Then pretend you had no clue it was broken ever?
And finally. . . . .
Honesty.......
it's only the best policy if you get caught. If you don't.. You get to pick what the truth is. -
I remember when 102's first came out, the guys with their 5th wheels all the way up cracked them every day just making basic u-turns in the parking lot. Then add in the 53' factor and some would leave the rear tandems all the way back and it was a recipe for quick & easy cab-extender damage. Body shops were kept busy back then before the wised up and set the 5th wheels back 3 inches further to compensate

Something the driver trainer did not cover was having the new CDL holder out in a big parking lot running every scenario, jacknifing the rig and getting out and looking at just how far to go without going too far.

Was it wet pavement when you got out to GOAL? You got back in cab and foot slipped off clutch while backing due to moisture on footwear?

Richard Pryor said, even if your wife walks in and catches you in mid act with another woman in your wife's bed, deny it.
But he might not be the best role model.scottied67 Thanks this. -
Hell I wouldn't even let that bother me.
Say, I've been running and they never fixed it from the last guy -
Admit nothing, deny everything and always demand proof. If confronted with a picture very calmly state who you really gonna believe me or your lyin ### eyes.
