Trust me, I wanted nothing more than to rip into this guy but I was on a tight schedule and I don't get paid to bicker with losers in parking lots. The last thing I said to him was "I hope you have a better day tomorrow." Kill em with kindness ya know? Double edged kindness maybe but still nice nonetheless.

Opus and Home_on_wheels Thank this. -
A couple of weeks ago I picked up a relay in Seville from a company driver. Not only was he on time but he handed me a scale ticket. This was a 11,000 pound load of potato chips. He proceeds to tell me he knew he didn't need to scale it but it was how he was trained. Well done driver. I actually took the time to call my icr, along with his truck number. Some guys, it seems to me you want to hold on to.91B20H8 and dancecanyon Thank this.

re: scaling. my second trip out on my own, i was carrying some sort of crated steel that didn't fit on the back end by about a foot....so, at my behest, it got stacked on top beginning right at the nose....
i passed the canadian scales, passed an illinois scale and then got called in at a missouri scale--2500# overweight on my drives. i was shaking from being called in, totally forgot all my training and managed to break the landing gear on the flatbed, was handed a $300+ ticket, still had to unstrap/untarp everything once i found someone in the nearby town to change around my load(another $100)...oh, and for those wondering why i was able to pass the illinois scale--my air bags on my trailer had gotten something jammed in a line and i was driving them deflated(apparently that drops the weight back on a trailer by about 2000#...got that fixed before crossing the missouri scale) all that to say, I scale anything and everything if i'm even remotely unsure....and definitely anything over 20,000 #....heck, even if a company has their own scales, i still go and CAT scale it. NEVER AGAIN!!!
and re: location: doing my reset at an RV park in south Alberta, Canada....the only truck stop doesn't have showers and i need a shower. there's a golf course right beside the park so a game will be happening tomorrow; there's a river to swim in and who knows what other hi jinx i'll find myself getting up to for the next night and day.... -
