It depends OverDrive, when i was there i was able to take my 2 day hometime after 2 weeks anywhere. It is terminal specific. For instance Atlanta allowed it, but Kansas City couldn't. Knight still runs their terminals as if they are their own entities under the Knight flag.

    OverDrive Thanks this.

I would like to but I wont, mainly because the conversation I had was between friends and a few beers. He just happens to hold a decent position in upper corporate management. I will say it was enough to change my mind and his recommendation for me to find something different. I will go as far to say they are going to be catering to the lowest common denominator for the company.

Knight is worried about volume and not quality and will be restructuring on being able to cycle drivers with the lowest effect on profits. Driver cams, crash mitigation, Zonar and Driver rating / scale rating are all just the tip.

I'm sorry, I cant and I wont be more specific as stated above this was a conversation I had with a friend. The only reason I bring it up here is so people dig a little deeper before they just believe what they see on the surface. When I say Knight is headed toward C.R. England's management style its not a exaggeration, just a warning.

Stay safe and I really do hope some of the info I have share helps somewhat.

My personal opinion, I worked for them for years, they treated me good but those days are ending and the company is headed in a different direction. I will not be returning to them.

    Edit,
I will add one more thing, Just because they say something wont happen now, only applies to the here and now with them. That does not mean they don't plan on implementing something later.

As I said several times b4, when I hired on in 2003 and they had only 700 trucks was a driver's co......one of the main reasons I hired on. They treated their drivers as valuable as I also said most were very experienced.

After they grew, competing with and becoming a Swift wannabe, drivers became just tractor numbers..

Well one could of figured they were going to go that route. Most of the brothers came from Swift corporate positions in order to create Knight.... lol.

True, and signed a No Compete for 7(?) Yrs and got around it by being a "warehousing co." called Total Warehouse, with a Knight on a horse logo, but now changed to a K with helmet.

Yup, if I remember right, didn't they start out by hauling hay for farms?

Mega Fleet can't possibly be that bad they are a typical company. I'm a owner operator I know this business and got to give credit to the drivers that sacrifice so much for these Companies... I started with Schneider National and that job was okay years ago... Good Luck with Knight...
